Introducing "Superior Brazing." Brazing is one method of joining metals together. It involves melting a metal with a lower melting point than the base materials (filler metal) and flowing it between two pieces of steel, then cooling and solidifying it to create the joint. Unlike conventional welding (arc welding), the base materials do not melt significantly, which is an advantage for maintaining high dimensional accuracy. The chuck parts made of metal and other materials wear out with repeated use. This can be solved with carbide chuck parts that have been brazed with knurled ultra-hard material!

The chuck used for gripping objects may be exposed to wear depending on the object being gripped. Therefore, high wear-resistant carbide is sometimes selected as a material for the chuck. Particularly for the purpose of gripping objects, it is common to process the surface with knurling as an anti-slip treatment, and this is done using carbide. In such cases, it is possible to manufacture the entire chuck tool from solid carbide, but it is also feasible to consider carbide brazed products where only the surface area, which is the acting part, is made of carbide while the base material is made of steel. Ultimately, it can be considered that achieving the intended purpose can be accomplished by using carbide that has been knurled only on the areas exposed to wear.
